Mid-October is before the autumn colour. Kyoto's maples peak in late November, so expect green to first-turning leaves. Hakone runs a few weeks ahead of the cities because of elevation and is the one place you might catch early colour.

Crowd note: A Wednesday with no holiday near it, which is the best kind of day for Disney and the only weekday Ghibli is reliably open. Theme parks consume the whole day, so do not stack choices.

Door to door sequence
- Warner Bros.: live route to Toshimaen Station; follow official walking signs.
- Ghibli: JR to Mitaka plus official community bus/walk.
- DisneySea: JR to Maihama then Disney Resort Line; arrive before gates.
Taxi fallback: Taxi to the nearest major JR/Metro station, not necessarily all the way to the hotel.
Return to hotel: From Disney, Keiyo line to Tokyo Station then the Marunouchi line to Akasaka-mitsuke. From Ghibli in Mitaka, JR Chuo to Shinjuku then Marunouchi. Either way it is one change.
