- Hakone-Yumoto → Odawara on Hakone Tozan/Odakyu local service.
- Tokaido Shinkansen Odawara → Kyoto. Nozomi does not stop at Odawara, so this leg is Hikari (or Kodama); expect roughly two hours and book the Hikari shown by SmartEX.
- Seat D on ordinary-car 2+3 seating is generally the Fuji side when travelling west, but verify the train layout.
- Platform: Confirm on station display and official app on travel day.
Taxi fallback: Taxi from Kyoto Station to hotel is sensible with carry bags.
